The freedom
Of the prowl
The independence
Of the feline
The pungent fish air
Draws him to the
wharf
Looking for tidbits
And those who would
provide
The small port
Though busy
Gives reason
To his daily arrival
His natural agility
Apparent
As he traverses
Along the pier
Apparent
As he catches the
morsels
From mid-air
With stylish ease
The pier belongs to
him
As he is the
fishermen’s luck
Every day
Always trolling
