On the Prowl!

  SOLD/UNAVAILABLE

Here's the sleek black pier cat on the prowl.  Below is a poem written by R.A. Martelle that was inspired by the piece.  More poetry to come....

"Trolling"

The freedom
Of the prowl
The independence
Of the feline
The pungent fish air
Draws him to the wharf
Looking for tidbits
And those who would provide
The small port
Though busy
Gives reason
To his daily arrival
His natural agility
Apparent
As he traverses
Along the pier
Apparent
As he catches the morsels
From mid-air
With stylish ease
The pier belongs to him
As he is the fishermen’s luck
Every day
Always trolling

Shasta Daisey!

BUY NOW $100!

This is one of my Shasta Daisey's from my garden last summer.  I love those daiseys.  So beautiful and my bush is about 3 feet in diameter.  It's sooo nice that these come back every year and bloom all summer.  The attract a lot of dragon flies to the garden which is good for the fruits too (:

Ligth Blue Lotus Flower

BUY NOW!  $125

Happy start to spring!  Here in the North East it sure doesn't feel like spring.  We still have the snow covering the ground and yes it is below freezing every day.  Nothing like my trip to the islands!  Still, you have to remember that rebirth takes place in the dark and soon the new tulip and crocus buds will be springing forth, just like the lotus come up through the mud!  Painting comes framed in black.

Sage Lotus Root

   BUY NOW! $125

I just loved making this lotus root and flower.  The pastel really takes nicely to the ampersand board.  It's like the finest sandpaper but with 1/8 inch thickness for some stability.  Comes framed in black and would make a great addition to a home office (:  Although I actually have a giant lotus painting above my bed.  Very inspiring (:

Avocado & Lime Delight!

  BUY NOW! $125

Well this might just be one of the last few fruit paintings I have to post.  While I really like food and fruit and still life paintings I have a really hard time not eating the props!  I'm sure I ate the first half of this avocado and lime before I even started working on the piece.  Then I had to work really fast because all I kept thinking about was how good the first half was and I wanted to eat the rest of it and right away before any oxidation!

Papaya Slice!

  BUY NOW $100!

Hi there just getting back from a trip to the islands.  Ate a lot of fruit down there just like this papaya slice.  Did you know you could actually eat the seeds of the papaya and they have anti bacterial properties?  It's true.  Sometimes I munch on a few or if I'm making a smoothie I throw them right in with the fruit!

Love That Pear!

  BUY NOW $100!

I think this was one of the last summer pears I got from the weekly farmers market held here in Lenox.  I suspect that is why I was able to paint the fruit whole with out taking a bite.  Seemed a shame to eat it as I knew there would not be another one so fresh for many many more months....... but when I finally did eat it I loved that pear (:

Breakfast Anyone?

  BUY NOW $100

This was the hardest piece I ever remember making.  I first started out with three pieces of choclate purchased at the little gift shop in the Greenville Inn.  Before I even started setting up the arrangement one was gone.  Next I started my drawing and got a little hungry and since I wasn't quite done drawing took a bite, ok maybe two of the next piece.  Then I decided, well that's just way too much to paint so let me simplify the composition by eliminating the rest of the second piece.  Then it was torture trying not to eat the last one and forcing myself to finish the piece first!
