Pink Echinacea, I

  BUY NOW $100

As promised here is the first one and when placed aside the second they look like they were meant to be together forever!  As with the first echinacea I'm sure I must have found this little flower as a victim to some wind damage and so rescued and nurtured it back to it's current state of beauty!

Pink Echinacea II

  BUY NOW $100!

Hi there!  We have finally got some relief from the sub zero weather so I thought of summer months gone by when I picked up this Echinacea here in Lenox.  There's a little garden area on the walk around town that has hundreds of them in bloom during late July and into August.  I'm sure this one must have just fallen from it's stem or something and I brought it home to save it in this vase.  The cat tail in it's own vase grows wild everywhere.  I picked this one on one of my many walks.  I'll post # I on Friday and the two together paint a complete story.

Dani's Tulip!

  SOLD/UNAVAILABLE

So I have several different approaches to creating my art.  Much of the time I start with a still life or a photo and then sometimes I just get crazy and use that as a guide but start painting whatever just flow out of my hands or the brush.  That's exactly what happened here.  I started with a red tulip photo I had taken and went all abstracty painting outside the lines and freeing myself of results.  The owner loves it.  I guess it has a sort of flowie feel to it just like a flower being caressed by a gentle breeze........

Le Chat Noir Avec le Blanc

  BUY NOW!  $125

Wow can you believe tomorrow is Friday already.  Here in the North East we are dying for this cold spell to snap (zero this morning with wind chills below) but it looks like it will be lasting through out the weekend.  I thought it fitting to post the black kitty with the white background to let you all know what the snow and cold look like these days.  Pretty stark hun.  He doesn't even want to keep all fours on the ground!  I bet those of you in the Caribbean are pretty happy there  (:  Kitty comes framed in black.  Have a great weekend!

Blue Lotus

  BUY NOW $125

I just love this lotus flower.  It's gorgeous.  Made with soft pastels from France on museum board which is like a very fine sandpaper.  The tooth really grabbed the pastel nicely and allowed great detail work to be created.  Additionally the vibrancy of the pastels really make for a mood boost....... which we are in need of here in the North East during mid January....... As always the pastels come framed in black

Aloha Friday!

  BUY NOW!  $200

I know, I know it's not one of the 6 x 6's or other small size but it is Aloha Friday and I just love this painting.  This really is a bay in Hawaii on the island of Oahu.  Yes being stuck in the winter wonderland of New England sure does bring back fond memories of this place and daydreams of being there....... well anywhere but here!  It's cold!

Fried Egg with Chive

  BUY NOW $100

I actually made this egg in a new pan made in Spain that I picked up at Marshalls and believe me it took just about all of my will power not to eat my still life!  The pan fits only one egg in it at a time and is very cute (:  If I had any sense at the time I would have eaten one first and then made another to paint from instead of letting this one get cold and me hungry!

Simon At the Back Door

SOLD/UNAVAILABLE

Well here is another painting of Simon, the Red Lion Inn's mascot.  He has a little back door down to the cellar in the main house where his litter box and food are. I go to the Red Lion Inn as much as I can for tea by the fire and to pet the cat.  He's quite a friendly fella after a while and will curl up right next to you for a good snooze (:

Me and My Shadow

  BUY NOW $100

Well both of Nick's Aubergine paintings were such a huge success I am sharing this one too.  Also painted this summer with a cute little eggplant from my organic garden.  Ate it after. I'm pretty sure in a raw foods salad that included garden tomatoes, the little vine ones, garlic, basil, the purple and green kind, sweet vidalia onion, sea salt, topped with olive oil and balsamic vinegar from Italy.  Yum indeed!

A Taste of Summer

  SOLD/UNAVAILABLE

Yes I know it is the middle of winter but these tomatoes slices were from the garden harvest and well, at least here in the North East we could all stand a friendly reminder of the bounties the summer brings.  So here's to all those good memories and looking forward to another great season in 2013.  Happy New Year once again!
