Here's Booboo Kitty from Texas in the bird bath / water fountain taking in the morning sun and a drink of fresh water from the over night rains. It really was a joy following him around in his own environment!  Panel is 8 x 10 and can come framed in black.

Not Your Mama's Slippers!

SOLD / NOT AVAILABLE

Well these feather boa night slippers certainly aren't you grand mothers slippers but maybe they could have been moms!  I know my mom was pretty hip, but if she was wearing them she wasn't also working too hard on the household chores!  Keep sakes for sure and they came from the Shakespeare & Company closet.  Hmm belong to some princess then?

So Da Anyone?

  BUY NOW! $125

I just thought these were the coolest shoes or is it a sneaker or a boot?  Also from the costume shop at Shakespeare & Company these were great to paint!  I bet there a ton of fun to wear too!

Fembots At Large

  BUY NOW! $125

So here's a larger version of these cool Nine West shoes that came from Elizabeth's closet.  I liked the little one so much I just had to paint a bigger version & the colors just totally remind me of Austin Powers movies, not that I watch those much or anything....

Mini Panther, aka Booboo Kitty from Texas

  SOLD/UNAVAILABLE

Here he is Booboo Kitty from Texas looking just like a mini panther.  I captured his image one morning last November at Sue's "Bide a While" retreat center in Dickenson, Texas.  It was just a beautiful morning with the sun hitting just right on the cat while he was startled by something and drawn away from his moment of drinking fresh morning dew water from the fountain. Although this piece is sold prints are available for $50, framed.

Made in Spain

  BUY NOW! $100

I just loved these little cute shoes I found in the costume shop.  They sort of look like they belong on the Spanish Matador, or an Emperor / Empress.  The only clue as to their origin is the label "Made in Spain".

Little Polka Dot....

So these little cuties also came from the Shakespeare & Company stash of shoes.  I just loved them and thought they would be great to paint.  I do try to pick out more of the unusual ones from that closet.  A little more interesting and then try to imagine what character would be wearing them.  I couldn't quite figure out what show these could be in, but there they were ready to be admired and set on canvas for all eternity.  Who knows, maybe you have this same pair in your closet and want them on the walls too!  Or maybe these are the perfect color for a room you have.....

Gone Wild, Les Zebras!

  BUY NOW! $100

Well I went completely wild this day.  I was meandering through the costume shop closet here at Shakespeare & Company and found this really funky pair of shoes to paint.  Shakespeare & Company is always looking for donations of shoes (for some reason black seem to be popular) so if you're interested in making a donation send to 70 Kemble Street, Lenox, MA 01240.  If you are hoping they end up immortalized on canvas then send them to my attention first and I'll see what I can do... The lilac color in back reminds me of the lilacs that are in bloom now and making everything smell sooo beautiful!

Which Way, Booboo Kitty Texas

  BUY NOW!  $150

Here's Booboo Kity, le chat noir de Texas, contemplating which way he should go.  That's always the decision isn't it.  One does not always wish to venture off into the same old territory daily.  A bit of adventure is often in order to expand ones knowledge base and experience.  His real name is just Boo, but when I got really close to Boo I noticed he had a booboo on his left ear.  It was somewhat distorted and I felt a tinge of pain for the little fella so cuddled up to him and called him Booboo kitty even before I knew his real name.

Mini Fembots Look

  BUY NOW! $100

So I'll be posting the "Madd about Shoes" series over the next few weeks along with the story of Booboo Kitty from Texas.  The shoe series started last week and we have officially left France.  These shoes are from a friend of mines stash and they are gorgeous.  Tie around the ankles with the silk pieces and who ha is that sexy!  I had to stop painting food because I would eat half the props before I finished the paintings and shoes seemed like a good alternative.  Fun and they don't deteriorate in the hot lamps of the shadow box!

Booboo Kitty se cache

  SOLD/UNAVAILABLE

Alas, here is Booboo Kitty my new chat noir for the season.  Here he stares out of the shrubs thinking he is hidden from view.  Perhaps from his prey, but my cameras eye found him.  Boo belongs to Sue Bown of Dickenson Texas.  I discovered his unique personality while there last November at an advanced Carol Marine workshop.  The place was awesome, class was great and Sue was the greatest host ever!  This is her little Boo.... and you will be seeing more of him in the next few weeks.....

Tangerine Suede, CJP's

  BUY NOW! $100

Well we haven't completely left France.  These shoes are by Charles Jordan, Paris and are one of my favorite pairs of sandals ever.  They are a bit on the high side so I don't wear them too often else I want to tower over all and of course takes a bit of getting used to walking in them.  But they are gorgeous.  The tangerine suede makes me want eat the fruit and the chocolate brown.  Yum!  What a combo....

Garden of Tulips

Here's the last of my little red tulips for this spring.  We're having the best spring ever in New England.  Weather in the 70's all week.  All sun, no rain.  Shallots coming up in the garden and the Shasta Daisies are pushing through the ground as well.  Did you know Kale can winter over?  I just saw some leaves on last years plant.  Very exciting!  Enjoy the weekend!

Le Pont Neuf

  BUY NOW! $100

Well my friend Catherine is officially back from her adventures in Europe.  And indeed she is still glowing just like this painting.  She just loved, loved, loved Paris and the map I gave her came in extremely handy.  We have yet to get together to talk about all the magnificent food she ate and art she saw........  But the love vibe is contagious, so if you get the chance to go to Paris in spring.... Just do it!  Next I'll be posting more spring flowers and some new surprises along with my latest stories of Boo, the le chat noir de Texas.  Happy Spring!
