Well here is another little gecko that I captured by surprise while on my trip to Hawaii in March. He was just tooling around his little leaf minding his own business when I shot him. This guy was super fast though he liked playing hide and seek with me. And you thought that was just for kids.........

Nick's Second Aubergine
SOLD/UNAVAILABLE
Well my boss (in case you haven't figured it out, his name is Nick) was pretty lucky this summer. Despite the vermin I had to fend off in the garden and the lack of water in the North East the eggplant crop was great which he was the recipient of many...... And I absolutely love painting these little guys they're so cute. Organic gardening is fun and the rewards too many to mention (well a sore back isn't one of the benefits but you will get that too ...)

Nick's First Aubergine
SOLD/UNAVAILABLE
So I have a tiny plot of land that I work a small organic garden on in the summer at S&Co. The first year i planted eggplants my boss couldn't get enough of them so I decided to plant 6 of his own plants so he could have his own fruits. Here is the first one that was born. Cute I'd say and probably bursting with flavor!

Green Banana Smoothie
BUY NOW $100
Well if there is food on my canvas (or the remains of) you can always tell what I was eating that day (: Here's one of my favorite smoothies made with banana, swiss chard, coconut water and a hint of vanilla. I know sounded pretty gross to me at first too but sometimes you need to be adventurous and try new things. Green smoothies are really good for you, although I must admit I can't do them everyday.

Hot Pink Lotus Flower
Well I wish I had one of these lotus flowers right now to lift me out of the winter blues mood! The shortest day is rapidly approaching in the North East. The weather has been arctic freezing to dreary drizzle and since the lotus is supposed to uplift ones spirits I'll take a dozen right now! Just think you can look at this all the time if that ever happens to you!

Le Gecko Se Cache
BUY NOW $100
I captured this little guy when I was in Hawaii last spring for the art show my work was featured in. He appeared to be hiding, but really I think he was a secret admirer! My friends were amazed at how many of these little guys I would find and take pictures of..... apparently it's rare so enjoy him while you can like all of life's present moments (:

Red Tulip, II
BUY NOW $125
So I bought these amazing red tulips at Guido's here in Lenox and had to paint some pieces of them. Guido's has a little section of the store dedicated just to flowers and they often have some spectacular arrangements. The little ruffled edges of these tulips are just so cool and the vibrancy of the pastels I am using to paint with show the flower off nicely! Comes framed in black.

My Eggplant Grows Wild!
Well this eggplant really was growing this wild in my garden this summer. I thought he was so cool I just had to paint him. Then I gave him to my boss to eat because well, you know I sort of bonded with him and then couldn't have him for supper!

Encore un Tomate Heirloom
BUY NOW $100
Yes, here is the only other heirloom tomato from my garden this summer that actually made it to the canvas. They were so delicious, plentiful and tasty that once they were ripe it seemed a shame not to eat them right away and I couldn't see torturing the big guy under the flood light!

Le Chat Noir Traque sa Prioe
So there I was in Hawaii a few days before the big show and the weather was miserable. Rain, clouds, winds. Just terrible. Well what are you going to do? Museums of course. While at the Bishop Museum and strolling the outer walkways I stumbled across this little panther that was quite obviously tracking his prey. He didn't seem to mind the rain at all. He wanted to catch his victim! So here is the first of Le Chat Noir d' Hawaii!

Tomate Heirloom
BUY NOW $100
Well it's nearly Thanksgiving and I've been making my list of things I am grateful for, which is very, very long and includes the fantastic year we had this summer in New England. Although the weather was hot and dry (which I loved) I had the best summer ever in the garden for tomatoes. Although most never made it to the canvas because I ate them so fast this one did. I had to upgrade to an 8 x 8 because I just couldn't fit him on the canvas he was so huge!

Simon at the Front Door

Here he is! Simon, waiting at the front door of the Red Lion Inn. He's so cute as he awaits all the guests wondering which one will be the one to acknowledge him and leave the door open just the right amount of time so he can run in! Not sure how to get rid of that glare on the photo, sorry!

Light Pink Lotus
SOLD/UNAVAILABLE
I gave this piece to one of my bosses nieces that lost all of her belongings in the Hurricane Sandy storm. The lotus flower blossoms only after it endures the murkiest & darkest reaches of muddy waters. It is a symbol of transformation & hope.

New Beginnings
Hi I'm just getting this rolling in November 2012. Still view the website (www.sophiemuseum.com) if you'd rather see a larger body of works and more of what is for sale. The blog will start listing all the 6 x 6, 8 x8 and 5 x7 works created in 2012. If I have time I'll add the larger pieces too. I'm shooting for the "daily painters" works from 2012 forward. Thank you for visiting and Aloha!
